This Vintage Speedsters Porsche 356 replica was purchased new by the current owner and was subsequently completed as an electric vehicle by Eriksson Enterprises in Del Rey Oaks, California, in 2017. Power is provided by a 96-volt Curtis single-shaft motor and five Tesla Model S battery modules paired with a Volkswagen four-speed transaxle. The car is finished in Fjord Green over a tan interior, and additional features include a Dilithium Design battery management system, a Thunderstruck Motors charger and charge controller, a louvered decklid, front disc brakes, painted wheels with Porsche-branded hubcaps, Spyder-style bucket seats, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This EV 356 replica shows 1k kilometers (~600 miles) and is now offered on dealer consignment as part of Mohr Imports’ Monterey Car Week Collection with build documentation and a clean California title listing the car as a 1964 Volkswagen.

The fiberglass body is finished in Fjord Green and is fitted over a shortened Volkswagen chassis. Features include a tan soft top boot, polished trim and bumper guards, gold Speedster badging, and a driver-side mirror. An uninstalled tan convertible top is included in the sale.

Painted 15? wheels feature polished Porsche-branded hubcaps and wear Pirelli P4 tires. Braking is from front discs and rear drums.

The cabin features black carpets as well as tan leather on the Spyder-style bucket seats, door panels, shift boot, and emergency brake boot. Additional features include a Toyota Prius throttle pedal, a two-tone dashboard, a wood-rimmed steering wheel with a Porsche-crest horn button, and a height-adjustable rearview mirror.

Instrumentation consists of a 6k-rpm tachometer, a 210-km/h speedometer, and gauges for temperature and fuel level. The tachometer, temperature gauge, and fuel level gauge are disconnected. The five-digit odometer shows 1k kilometers (~600 miles).

A digital tachometer, a battery monitor, and charge level display are mounted in aluminum bezels below the dashboard.

An aluminum enclosure in the front trunk houses Tesla Model S battery modules as well as a standard automotive battery.

A secondary battery box with additional batteries is housed in the rear compartment, which also contains a Thunderstruck Motors charger and charge controller along with a Curtis 650-amp AC controller equipped with a liquid cooling unit.

The Curtis AC-50 brushless AC motor weighs 115 lbs and is rated at 71 horsepower and 120 lb-ft of torque. A DC/DC converter is also mounted to the underside of the trunk and provides power to the auxiliary electrical systems.

The Volkswagen four-speed transaxle is equipped with 3.88:1 gearing and is paired with the electric motor using a billet aluminum adaptor. The selling dealer states that the electric motor eliminates the need to shift and that the car is intended to be driven with the transmission in third gear. Reverse is said to operate normally.

The sale includes parts invoices from EV West, a copy of the original invoice from Vintage Speedsters, and build receipts from Eriksson Enterprises.
