This 1994 Lotus Esprit is a left-hand-drive Sport 300 example produced within the lineage of the Type 105 race cars of the early 1990s. Just 64 examples of the Sport 300 were produced in total, and they feature revised bodywork, stiffer suspension, AP Racing brakes, and a pared-down cabin with racing-style bucket seats. Power is from a 302-horsepower, all-aluminum 2.2-liter Type 910S inline-four with a Garrett turbocharger, and the rear wheels are driven through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. An engine rebuild was commissioned in late-2019, a further $16k of service was completed earlier this year, and the car has been repainted in its factory Norfolk Mustard. This Esprit is one of two Sport 300 examples with its combination of colors and trim, and it is now offered on dealer consignment by Mohr Imports, a BaT Local Partner, as part of their Monterey Car Week Collection with a Lotus Certificate of Vehicle Provenance, literature, records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.

1994 Lotus Esprit Sport 300

The Esprit Sport 300 was produced in limited numbers as a derivative of the Esprit X180R, which was itself a modified, homologating version of the Type 105 race cars that competed in the SCCA Escort World Challenge series. The Sport 300 features widened wheel arches, integrated brake-cooling ducts, a rear wing, and Sport 300 graphics.

This example is finished in Norfolk Mustard (B05). An on-track incident at a Lotus event resulted in repairs to the rear bumper cover and spoiler, and the car was refinished last year.

The 16×8.5? front and 17×10.5? rear OZ Racing three-piece alloy wheels are mounted with Toyo Proxes R888 tires. Braking is handled by AP Racing four-piston calipers over 327mm ventilated discs at the front and 280mm discs at the rear, and the consigning dealer notes that an ABS delete kit sourced from Ian Lord of the UK has been retrofitted in place of the ABS system. The Sport 300 also features stiffer suspension components and a widened rear track in comparison to the standard Esprit. Brake diagnosis and service were performed in March 2025.

The racing-style bucket seats are trimmed in Raven leather and have harness pass-throughs and sewn-on Lotus headrest patches. Interior details include air conditioning and a Sony CD radio.

Instrumentation consists of a 300-km/h speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 108k kilometers (~67k miles).

The turbocharged 2.2-liter Type 910S inline-four is an all-aluminum unit that utilizes a Garrett T4 turbocharger and MagnaFlow exhaust components. It was rebuilt following an on-track mechanical issue, with work carried out beginning in late-2019. A related invoice from JAE Parts in Goleta, California, is visible in the gallery below along with French-language service records dating back to the 1990s.

A collection of service invoices is shown in the gallery below. More than $16k of work was completed in March 2026, and it included diagnosing and replacing the faulty ECU as well as repairing a vacuum leak, performing fluids services, and replacing the idle air control valve. Custom 3? mufflers with dual 3? inlets and four outlets were fabricated and installed at the same time. The battery was replaced and a custom tie-down was fabricated in June 2023, when MSD Blaster ignition coils were installed and the fuel injectors were replaced.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Additional photographs of the underside are shown in the gallery below. The selling dealer tells us that the third gear synchro is weak.
