This Porsche 356 Speedster replica was assembled by Vintage Speedsters of Hawaiian Gardens, California, and was acquired by the current owner in 2020. It is powered by an air-cooled 1,835cc flat-four that is linked to a four-speed manual transaxle and fitted with dual EMPI carburetors and a Tri-Mil exhaust. The fiberglass body is finished in Anthracite with a black convertible soft top, boot cover, side curtains, and tonneau cover over Cognac leather upholstery. Additional details include 15? chrome steel wheels, front disc brakes, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, air conditioning, and a retro-style radio. This Speedster replica is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean California title listing it as a 1964 Volkswagen.

The fiberglass body is finished in Anthracite and fitted over a shortened Volkswagen Beetle chassis. Exterior details include a black soft top, boot cover, side curtains, and tonneau cover as well as gold-finished Porsche 1600 Super badging, mesh headlight grilles, driving lights, teardrop taillights, a reproduction Reutter badge on the right fender, a rear luggage rack, and body-color bumpers with impact strips. An additional pair of glass side windows are included in the sale.

Chrome 15? steel wheels wear matching hub caps and are mounted with 185/65 Pirelli Four Seasons Plus tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.

The fixed-back bucket seats are trimmed in Cognac leather upholstery that extends to the dashboard pad, door panels, rear parcel shelf, and shifter and parking brake boots. Grey square-weave carpets line the footwells, and additional interior details include air conditioning, latch-and-link lap belts, a wooden shift knob, an adjustable height rearview mirror, and a retro-style radio with Bluetooth capability.

The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel wears a Porsche-crest horn button and frames a central tachometer flanked by a 210-km/h speedometer and a combination gauge for fuel level and oil temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 3,800 kilometers (~2,400 miles), approximately 3k of which have been added under current ownership.

The air-cooled 1,835cc flat-four is equipped with an EMPI Kadron-style carburetor kit, an alternator charging system, an oil cooler, and a Tri-Mil Euro Two-Tip exhaust with heater boxes. The oil was changed in June 2024 and the invoice can me viewed in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.

The chassis number 5758734 shown above is consistent with a 1964 Volkswagen Beetle and matches the VIN on the current California title which describes the car as a 1964 Volkswagen.
