It is our pleasure to present this 1994 Porsche 911 Speedster, one of only 427 examples produced for the U.S. market.  The second Porsche 911 to have been offered as a limited-production Speedster model, the 964 evokes the original 356 Speedster of the 1950s with its short, steeply raked windscreen and covered rear section.  This 1994 example was ordered in Grand Prix White with optional cruise control, full air conditioning, and standard Recaro bucket seats shared with the Carrera RS.  It had spent much of its life in Indiana and was brought to Porsche Monterey in 2021 for Porsche Classic Technical Certification.  Having traveled just over 16k miles, this rare numbers-matching 964 Speedster is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

The Speedster is based upon the Carrera 2 and features a manually operated soft-top stowed beneath a distinctive double-hump fiberglass cover.  This example came factory painted in Grand Prix White (L908) and had reportedly been refinished under prior ownership. Equipment includes Cup Design mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and 17” Cup 1 wheels dressed in BF Goodrich tires dated from 2009-2010.  Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.

The interior shares its lightweight door panels and fixed-back Recaro bucket seats with the Carrera RS as well as deletion of the rear seats.  This example features optional automatic full air conditioning (573), cruise control (454), and a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 radio. A note from Porsche Monterey states the interior appears to be in excellent condition corresponding to the age of construction.

The original M64/01 3.6L flat-six engine is paired with a number’s matching 5-speed G50 manual transmission, sending as much as 247 HP and 228 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels.  The results from the Porsche Classic Technical inspection can be found in the gallery along with images of the undercarriage and a recent invoice showing a four-wheel alignment and oil service carried out by Porsche Monterey in January of 2022.

This sale will include the original manuals, air pump, a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, and a clean title. One of the most coveted air-cooled 911s of all, this rare 964 Speedster makes a fine addition to any Porsche collection.

The included Porsche Classic Technical Certificate was issued by Porsche Monterey of Seaside, California on November 16, 2021 and indicates a numbers-matching engine and transmission. Results from the concurrent inspection are visible in the gallery.
