This 1965 Porsche 356SC cabriolet was delivered new in Signal Red over black leather, and it is said to have been overhauled by its original owner in the late 1990s, which included refinishing the car. The numbers-matching 1,582cc flat-four is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, and other features include a black soft top, a black boot cover, 15? steel wheels, disc brakes, and a Blaupunkt radio. The current owner acquired the car in 2001 and has since added approximately 3,400 kilometers. This 356SC is now offered on dealership consignment with records said to date back to the 1990s, a driver’s manual, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean California title.

Finished from the factory in Signal Red (6407), the car was repainted in the late 1990s according to the selling dealer. The car is equipped with a black convertible top, a black tonneau cover, a twin-grille deck lid, and body-color bumpers with chrome overriders. The paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.

Silver-painted 15? ventilated steel wheels wear chrome-finished hubcaps with colored Porsche-crest emblems. They are mounted with 165-series Michelin XZX tires. Four-wheel disc brakes were standard on the 356SC.

The interior features black leather upholstery over peppered square-weave carpeting. The body-matching dashboard has a black cover and houses an analog clock as well as a Blaupunkt radio in the center.

A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of green-letter VDO instrumentation that includes a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 200-km/h speedometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 83k kilometers (~52k miles), and true mileage is unknown. Approximately 3,400 kilometers have been added by the current owner over the past two decades.

The 1,582cc flat-four in the SC model was rated for a 9.5:1 compression ratio and 107 SAE horsepower at 5,800 rpm when new.

The engine-case stamping reads P?821812? and matches the number indicated on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity below.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists the production date, original colors, and powertrain numbers.

A walk-around video tour is provided above, and the footage below shows the engine starting and running.
