Vehicle Overview
This 1995 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R is #239 of 250 built for the model year, all of which were powered by a 5.8-liter V8 linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The $13,699 R Competition Option specified Crystal White Clearcoat paintwork and Saddle cloth upholstery as well as 17×9? alloy wheels, adjustable Koni dampers, upgraded springs, an upgraded front sway bar, a front strut tower brace, a heavy-duty aluminum radiator, an auxiliary oil cooler and power steering cooler, a 20-gallon fuel cell, and a high-capacity fuel pump. The car is said to be the specific example that was used as a model for Forza Motorsport 4, and the car has a Ford-installed Torsen differential and a sound system. Now showing 2,700 miles, this Mustang SVT Cobra R is offered is now offered as part of Mohr Imports’ Monterey Car Week Collection on dealer consignment with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, a car cover, and a clean California title.
The Cobra R can be distinguished from the standard Cobra coupe by its redesigned front end, the absence of fog lights, and a raised cowl on the fiberglass hood to accommodate the engine’s taller intake plenum. The only color offered was Crystal White Clearcoat (ZR), and additional equipment includes a fixed rear spoiler, power-adjustable mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets.
The 17? five-spoke Cobra R wheels are mounted 245/45 BFGoodrich tires. Stopping power is provided by Cobra-branded front calipers and ventilated discs at each corner. Factory suspension upgrades over the standard Mustang Cobra included adjustable Koni shocks, progressive-rate springs, a front strut-tower brace, and a larger-diameter front sway bar.
The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in Saddle cloth along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. The Cobra R was not equipped with rear seats. The stereo and CD changer are said to have been installed by the dealership, and they are linked to a premium sound system with an amplifier.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,800-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 2,700 miles, less than 100 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.8-liter V8 was shared with the F-150 Lightning but fitted with higher-compression pistons, a more aggressive camshaft, and a larger throttle body. The engine was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque, and R models are also equipped with an aluminum radiator, a power steering cooler, an engine oil cooler, and a fuel cell with a high-capacity fuel pump.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TR-3550 five-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential that was installed by Ford. The owner notes a Fuel Safe fuel cell was installed approximately two years ago.
This specific car is said to have been used as the model for Cobra R in Forza Motorsport 4.
