1949 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup
This 1949 Chevrolet 3100 is a five-window, half-ton pickup that was refurbished under previous ownership and was acquired by the current owner on BaT in January 2021. The truck is finished in black over brown vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 235ci inline-six paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes body-color 16? wheels, wide-whitewall tires, running boards, dual side mirrors, and chrome-finished bumpers as well as wood bed slats and side rails. This Chevy pickup is now offered on dealer consignment with manufacturer’s literature, promotional material, a California Historical Vehicle license plate, and a clean California title.
The truck was refinished in black under previous ownership and features running boards, chrome-finished bumpers, bright side mirrors, and wood bed slats and side rails. An area of bubbling paint beneath the passenger-side mirror panel is visible.
Black-finished 16? steel wheels wear polished Chevrolet-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 6.00-16? Firestone Deluxe Champion wide-whitewall tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes. Under previous ownership, the brakes and brake lines were reportedly replaced and the suspension was refreshed.
The bench seat is trimmed in brown vinyl upholstery and is accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. The cab is fitted with a heater, curved rear quarter windows, a split windshield, and a rubber liner that covers the floors. The selling dealer states the driver-side door panel glue is starting to peel.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames an 80-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 241 miles, approximately 41 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The selling dealer notes that the speedometer bounces and that the battery gauge is inoperable.
The 235ci inline-six was reportedly overhauled under previous ownership and features hydraulic camshaft lifters.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission that is said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership along with the rear axle. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
