This 1972 BMW 3.0CSi is a European-market example that spent time in Switzerland before being imported to the US in the late 1970s and was acquired by the current owner in 2010. It is finished in Polaris Metallic over red leather and is powered by a 3.0-liter M30 inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 15? light alloy Alpina wheels, a modified front air dam, power-operated windows, an Alpine CD stereo, and a heater. This E9 is now offered on dealer consignment as part of the Mohr Imports Car Week Collection: Postcards from Monterey at no reserve with the owner’s manual, service records, a spare front air dam, the initial Swiss license plate, and a clean California title.
The car came finished from the factory in Polaris Metallic (60) and was repainted in 1999, while dent repairs were performed, the lower rear bumper panel was repaired, and the spare tire well was refinished in 2010, at which time the grilles, badging, and hood seal were replaced by La Jolla Independent of California. A modified 635CSi front air dam has also been installed, and exterior features include front fender-mounted vertical air guides, dual side mirrors, bright window trim, and chrome-finished bumpers with rubber impact strips. A replacement windshield was installed in July 2025, and the selling dealer notes that additional recent work has involved repairing the headlights and replacing the hazard flasher switch. The 15? light alloy Alpina wheels are mounted with 205/55 front and 225/50 rear Kumho Ecsta ASX tires. Stopping power is provided by discs at all four corners. The front and rear brakes were serviced in preparation for the sale with replacement pads.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and contoured rear seats that were reupholstered in red leather in 1999. Replacement carpets and door panels were installed at that time, and interior appointments include front seat head restraints, an Alpine CD stereo, power-operated windows, a heated rear window, and a heater. New Coco floor mats have been added. The left rear window is inoperative.
The three-spoke Nardi steering wheel fronts a 240-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and shows 24k kilometers (~15k miles), approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.0-liter M30 inline-six features Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection. An oil change and inspection were performed in July 2025.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is noted on the rockers and underside.
