Introduced at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 911 Dakar was designed as an homage to the Porsche 953’s overall victory in the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally. The 911 Dakar model is based on the Carrera 4 GTS but with revisions focused on off-road capability including increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, specialized drive modes, and various weight-saving measures.

This example is finished in Shade Green Metallic (M6F) and was optioned with the “Rallye 1971” decal set as well as a carbon-fiber roof panel, mirror caps, and side window triangles. The Dakar-specific front and rear fascias incorporate stainless-steel skid plates as well as forged-aluminum tow eyes, while the side skirts wear inset stainless-steel guard plates and are accompanied by black wheel-arch extensions. The carbon-fiber front hood features air outlets shared with the GT3, and a carbon-fiber fixed rear spoiler is equipped out back. Further details include LED headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Lighting System (PDLS) as well as 911 Dakar-logo puddle lamps, fog lights, parking sensors, lightweight glass, and silver-finished tailpipes.

The black-finished 19? and 20? forged alloy wheels feature polished outer rims and are secured with titanium wheel bolts. The Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tires were developed specifically for the 911 Dakar and measure 245/45 up front and 295/40 out back. The Dakar features a ride height 50mm higher than standard sport-suspension-equipped 911 variants along with a hydraulic lift system that provides up to an additional 30mm of clearance, with the maximum ride height of 7.5” sustainable at up to 105 mph. Additional standard features for the Dakar include Rallye Launch Control along with rear-axle steering, Porsche Traction Management (PTM), Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) Plus, and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control with active anti-roll bars. Stopping power is provided by six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers finished in gloss black over cross-drilled cast-iron rotors at all four corners.
