OVERVIEW

 Production was completed on August 27, 1993 and records tell us that the car was sold new on October 18, 1993 by McConnel Automotive Group in Albertville, AL.

S/N WP0AB2969RS419094 is offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and original factory maintenance & owner’s manuals.

Services and sales records go back from new, including the delivery inspection at 39 miles from the McConnel Automotive Group up to its more recent records in March of 2019. A car that has never been tracked.

Engine

Engine bay is very tidy and is laid out in a correct fashion. Mechanically excellent and a pleasure to drive. Great power, good gearbox with smooth syncros and solid feeling clutch. Brakes responded well and handbrake operates as intended.

Exterior

Excellent body with very good and mostly original paint. It was reported that the right fender and passenger door has had some paint work performed. The left rear quarter panel has been repainted although no visual difference seen but can be picked up by paint meter. All stickers in place including option code sticker under the hood. Perfect unmarked wheels with new Michelin Pilot Sports all round.

Interior

Interior is really superb and absolutely correct. There are no cracks in the dash, excellent door panels with the blue pull handles. Seats are great with the factory material still in tact, has some bolster wear on the drivers side. Matching blue seat belts can be found in perfect working order. Headliner is OEM material and no signs of sagging.

Service History

The current owner has maintained the car since 2014 with Tom Amon at Mobile Works West in San Martin, California whom had performed the following:

Records go back in the maintenance book since new and showing services at 2,000 miles, 9,036 miles, 28,545 miles, 33,543 miles and finally 38,800 in April of 2003.

A dedicated binder to this RS America displays an incredible amount of detailed service and technical information along with period brochures and articles.

Detailed and full-page color photographs (60) are also provided when the car went under a deep professional cleaning by Canepa in Scotts Valley, California during its current ownership.

The Drive

After a test drive locally here in Monterey, CA up to Laguna Seca Raceway we were more than pleased with the drive quality of this rare RS America, to the point of honest nostalgia back to 1994. Great synchro’s in all gears, shifting was pleasurable and honest. Suspension is 100% solid. Gauges are all fresh and clear. Steering is excellent, straight and true.

Car has never been tracked.

This RS America is a true testament to the documented 48k miles and all of the care and attentive service history it has received.
