This 1956 Packard Patrician is one of 3,775 produced for the model year and was purchased by the current owner’s late husband in 2009. An ensuing refurbishment is said to have included a repaint in green, reupholstering the green interior, rebuilding the carburetor for the 374ci V8, and overhauling the dual-range Ultramatic transmission. Additional equipment includes body-color steel wheels, whitewall tires, an egg-crate front grille, a left-side spotlight, chrome bumpers, rear fender skirts, footrests for the rear passengers, and a push-button radio. This Patrician is offered on dealer consignment with a clean California title in the current owner’s name.

The car was repainted green under current ownership, and styling incorporates ribbed full-length stainless-steel side moldings, an egg-crate front grille, a left-side spotlight, chrome bumpers, hooded headlights, “cathedral” taillights, rear fender skirts, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear bumper. Bubbling paint and corrosion are noted by the selling dealer.

Body-color 15? steel wheels wear bright covers and are wrapped in Coker Classic whitewall tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.

The front and rear bench seats are trimmed in green cloth and are said to have been reupholstered under current ownership. Appointments include a push-button radio, footrests for the rear passengers, and green carpets.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a semi-circular horn ring and fronts a textured dash insert housing a 120-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 69k miles, and total mileage is unknown.

The 374ci V8 was factory rated at 290 horsepower, which is sent to the rear wheels via a push-button dual-range automatic transmission. Work under current ownership is said to have included rebuilding the carburetor and overhauling the transmission.
