This 1953 MG TD was acquired by its current owner in 1997, and under previous ownership it was refinished in green. The tan soft top is complemented by a matching boot cover and interior, and the car is powered by a 1,250cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes dual carburetors, driving lights, 15? wheels with MG hubcaps, and a matching rear spare. This MG TD is now offered on dealership consignment at no reserve with partial service records and a California title that lists the vehicle as a 1954 model.

The car is said to have been refinished in green under prior ownership, and it features a tan soft top with a matching boot cover as well as driving lights and a rear-mounted spare. The paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.

Steel 15? wheels wear chrome-finished MG hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series steel-belted metric radial tires.

Tan upholstery covers the seating surfaces, door panels, rear trim, and dashboard. Black carpeting has been fitted with MG-branded floor mats. The seat adjuster and the soft-top frame show signs of age.

A banjo-style steering wheel frames a Jaeger 100-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset thermometer. Auxiliary gauges located in the center of the dash monitor oil pressure, water temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 64k miles, at least 10k of which have been added by the current owner. True mileage is unknown.

The 1,250cc XPAG inline-four utilizes dual SU carburetors and was rated at 54 horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque when new.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.

The VIN listed on the California title reads XPAG25253, which matches the engine number listed on the data plate above. The “TD2” designation on the data plate is not on the title, nor is the TD24863 vehicle number. The title is pictured below.
