1970 Ferrari Dino 246 GT
Now available for immediate inspection & purchase is this 1970 Ferrari 246 Dino GT S/N 01180.
The current owner purchased this car on August 19, 2006 at the RM Monterey Auction, Lot 498.
As an early M-Series Dino, it benefits from being a small production number of 506 from 1970 through 1971.
Under the new caretaker the Dino has benefitted from a full restoration from Monterey County local shops and specialists. Originally delivered as a Rosso Corsa over black vinyl. Now presented in Black over Tan Connelly leather with Daytona style inserted seats and interior.
Forza Motors of Monterey, CA performed the complete engine overhaul and rebuilt the entire transmission, wiring harness and final assembly in 2014.
Paint and body were stripped down to bare metal, repaired where needed and lower skirts replaced. Empire Restoration completed the car in the Spring of 2019 with some touch up work, including refinishing the rims as you see them today. New tires were also fitted at this time, with only 1,000 miles driven since.
Upholstery was done by a shop in San Francisco, where everything became new again – carpet, dash, visors, seats, door panels etc. all in OEM material and fashion.
The speedometer reads 63,517 kilometers and rarely driven since restoration, only being used for private weekend drives. Always been garage or airport hangar stored.
Period correct factory issued owners pouch and manual, spare parts books, warranty card and sales brochure from 1970 come with the car. The correct jack and jack pouch can be found in the trunk, along with a reproduction set of tools and its pouch.
This Dino received a Platinum Award at the significant Monterey event, Concorso Italiano, in 2014. It was also displayed at the 2018 Monterey Car Week show, Concours on the Avenue.
