This 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ7 Mk II was purchased by the current owner’s brother in the early 1980s before the owner acquired it in 1990. Refinished in red over red, the car is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Other equipment includes twin SU carburetors, a black soft top, a boot cover, 15? wire wheels, and a Lecarra steering wheel. Within the past five years the interior has been redone, the soft top was replaced, and the carburetors were adjusted. This Healey is now offered on dealership consignment as part of the Mohr Imports Monterey Collection Sale with some service records, magazines featuring the car, and a clean California title.

The car has been refinished in red, and the black soft top was replaced within the past five years. Other features include a boot cover, a hood scoop, fender-mounted mirrors, and bright trim. The selling dealer notes scratches on the driver-side glass along with imperfections in the paint.

Chrome-finished 15? wire wheels utilize two-ear knockoffs and are mounted with 180-series Michelin XAS radial tires. Braking force is provided by front discs paired with drums at the rear.

The interior features front bucket seats and contoured rear seats with red upholstery and black piping. The interior is said to have been redone within the past five years, and other features include red carpeting, a black dash cover, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, black front lap belts, and a Smiths heater.

A wood-rimmed Lecarra steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 19k miles, approximately 10k of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.

The trunk houses a wire spare with a cover as well as the battery. A hammer and other tools are also located in the trunk.

The 2.9L C-series inline-six features twin SU carburetors and has been fitted with an electronic ignition system as well as an aluminum radiator. The engine was rebuilt in 2006, and the carburetors were re-jetted in 2020.

Power is delivered to the wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive as well as a solid rear axle. The clutch assembly was replaced in 2006, and additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.

A number of records, magazines about the model, and various manuals will accompany the vehicle, as will a framed print, letter, and copy of the June 1991 Road & Track issue that featured this car. The vehicle was also exhibited at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week in California in 2019.
