Vehicle Overview

This 1979 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser is in Freeborn Red with Shale Grey.

The Toyota Land Cruiser is the longest running model line in Toyota’s history. The evolution of the FJ40 Land-Cruiser reached a high-point with the 1979 model. Standard features include front disc brakes, ear ambulance style doors and highway friendly gearing (3:70).

This particular car is from the Ron Rosner collection and was reportedly used as a display and demonstrator at one of their Toyota Dealerships.

Finished in its original color of Freeborn Red, white roof with Shale Grey leatherette interior. Visually maintained, largely original.

Features include:

- Aisin locking front hubs
- Center facing rear seats
- Barn rear doors
- Rear-mounted spare
- Radio removed
- Hardtop

A cosmetic restoration.

A stock interior. The seats have been covered as original and has the rear mounted folding, jump seats with OEM roll bar. The jump seats add to the combined passenger and cargo carrying capabilities of the FJ40. The white hardtop complements the red exterior and the original style gray, ix lug wheels.

For true open air travel, the roof and doors can be removed in concert with the fold down windshield.

The underside has been refinished and the running gear is in good working order.  Under the hood, the engine and exhaust system appear as original.

The FJ40 has plenty of power and torque thanks to the legendary, six cylinder “2F” engine producing 135 horsepower and 210 foot pounds of torque. That power is transmitted through a bullet-proof four speed transmission to a manually locking hub four wheel drive system.

Beautifully restored and can be taken immediately and put into use.
